They actually go around New York City and salvage food scraps, clothes and other stuff from the trash. The surprising thing is they are not homeless or beggars, they belong to average households who can afford to buy their own needs. But they believe that people are throwing a lot of stuff that are still edible or reusable so that is their way of helping to minimize the waste.
