The One With The Great Glass Elevator

Once a long, long time ago, I was browsing through a children’s book section in a second-hand book store with my friend, Hazel. She mentioned a guy named Roald Dahl. She said she had read most of his books when she was a kid and by the way she talked, I assumed Mr. Dahl was a prominent and great author.
Now I was then totally unfamiliar with the guy so I just nodded along, all the while making a mental check to read one of his books.
Then a few months later I bought a copy of “Charlie and The Great Glass Elevator.”
Did I enjoy reading it? You bet. I enjoyed it so much that I immediately tried my hand on writing a great story similar to Mr. Dahl’s classics.
Was I successful?
No. Or as I would love to say, not yet. Who knows, right?
: )

I loved Danny, Champion of the World. I have a few of his adult books. Wicked stuff.
Roald Dahl is one of the, if not THE greatest childrens writers ever.
James and the Giant Peach
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
George’s Marvellous Medicine
The Witches
The BFG
Most have been made into movies, the guy was a genius. There’s a wonderful movie about his life and the life of his wife, the actress Patricia Neal
